Volkswagen is speculating the chances of launching the seventh-gen Polo in India by the year 2023 or 2024. Unfortunately,  the sixth-generation model’s introduction here has been ruled out.

The carmaker has based the next-gen Polo for India on the MQB-A0-IN platform and has revise the global model to make it conform to the 4-metre length regulation in India.

As per the Brand Director, Ashish Gupta  “With the MQB-A0-IN platform, which is very amenable to products like the Polo, it is definitely possible to bring the next-gen Polo to India.”

Since, the current model has been on sale for over a decade and is still a core product in its lineup, it is very important for new Polo to be launched for Volkswagen to run in the market.

However, the automaker has currently set its sights on making its SUV portfolio stronger than ever under its ‘SUVW’ strategy. Implying that no priority to be given to its hatchback segment.

That is not to say that other products will be alienated, however, for it has promised that the successor to the Vento will be unveiled by the end of the year.

Rounding up, the car might take another 2-3 years to be introduced in the market. It will be introduced for Volkswagen seems to be highlighted by one main factor seen in the premium hatchback segment.
