2022 Volkswagen Polo Facelift review

A new Volkswagen Polo has recently unveiled its all new version through a virtual event on 22nd April 2021 with some fresh details and styling tweaks that are inspired by the latest Golf. Apart from this, it comes along with new driver-assistance tech that features on this Ford Fiesta alternative for the first time. The new Polo is speculated to go on roads towards the end of 2021, with prices likely to start around £18,000 i.e. Rs. 18,72,720. This is the midlife update that the sixth-generation model is set to receive.

2022 Volkswagen Polo Design

This is sudden yet mesmerising facelift for the Volkswagen Polo that inculcates up front tweaks and changes. It gets a complete transformation with new LED headlamps and a light bar that is stretching along the full width of the grille inspired from new Golf. The bumper itself has been given a total redesign as well along the back. With brake lights getting a complete new boxy boomerang-like shape, the car comes with LED technology as standard. Entry-level cars now get 15-inch alloys as standard, with new designs available across the range.

2022 Volkswagen Polo Technology and Engine

The 2021 Volkswagen Polo is available with ‘Travel Assist’ tech that is a system that allows your car to take control of acceleration, braking and steering when on motorways. It will work at speeds of up to 130mph. It is also inculcated as standard are automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance.

The petrol options that are available are the turbocharged 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engines in 80hp, 90hp and 110hp outputs. The 80hp and 90hp models also has  a manual gearbox as standard, although the 90hp version gets the option of a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox if you pay a bit extra. This gearbox comes as standard in 110hp cars.

2022 Volkswagen Polo Interiors

The modifications in the interior of new 2022 Volkswagen Polo are not much dramatic as on the exteriors. But, carmakers have made some tweaks to keep it looking fresh. Along with a new steering wheel, it has a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display that is fitted as standard to all versions of the hatchback. You will get the access on the option for the climate control settings to be integrated with the 8.0-inch infotainment system too.
